Zephyr range hood stopped working in Walnut Creek
Problem: The lights and the fan on their Zephyr hood both quit. Nothing on it worked. They figured a fuse had blown and asked us to come take a look.
Diagnostics: It’s an under-cabinet Zephyr with two fans and two lights. The rating plate lists models AK2500B and AK2536B. When the lights and the fan die together, the cause is usually something they share: the power coming in, the wiring or the control board. Our technician checked the circuit breakers and the hood’s wiring.
The fault was in the wiring. One wire had worn through and was shorting to the hood’s metal housing.
Solution: Our technician repaired the worn wire right there on the visit. No parts needed.
Result: The lights and the fan work again. If your hood goes dead and its breaker trips again after a reset, stop resetting it. Leave it off and have the hood checked. We repair Zephyr range hoods in Walnut Creek and across the East Bay.
