The hardware brings its own faults. The Pro Series and Autograph infrared broiler runs hot and the ignitor usually quits around the same time as the upper thermocouple, with the oven still baking normally. Eichler galleys are tight, so the cook runs the hood hard, and the capacitive touch board is a common call once grease reaches the seam. We carry the broiler parts and a hood board so it stays a single visit.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Infrared broiler ignitor and thermocouple. Broiler dead, bake side working, no fault on the older units. We replace the ignitor and upper thermocouple together when both test weak. Gas valve micro-switch bench-tested before reassembly.
- Pro hood touch-board service. Grease through the pad seam kills the speed buttons, a frequent call in low-clearance Eichler kitchens. Clean and re-seal, then replace the board if the sensors read dead.
- Dual-fuel convection cool-down fan. Cool-down fan runs on after the oven cycles off. Most often the thermistor reads wrong and the control never sees the oven cool. We meter the sensor and replace it. If it's in Z-Line warranty we file the claim.
- Refrigerator icemaker and door alignment. Z-Line fridges use a standard residential platform. Most calls are the icemaker assembly or a misaligned door. Panel-ready seals order to the panel-ready number.

My Z-Line hood buttons work sometimes and not others. Fixable?
Yes. That's grease ingress at the touch-pad seam, common in tight Eichler kitchens. We clean and re-seal first, and only swap the board if the sensors are truly dead. The blower is usually fine. -
Are you Z-Line authorized for warranty work in Palo Alto?
We are. We file Z-Line warranty claims directly. In-warranty repairs, we handle the paperwork. Out of warranty, the $75 diagnostic applies and is waived with the repair.
