Atherton's 94027 main kitchens run Wolf and Sub-Zero, not Z-Line. Where we do see Z-Line in town is the second kitchen, the pool house, the ADU, and the staff-side prep ranges going into the newer remodels. A Pro Series 48-inch range in an outbuilding gets used hard and serviced rarely, so by the time we get the call the infrared broiler ignitor and the upper thermocouple have usually failed together. Broiler won't light, oven still bakes, no code on the non-digital units.
The Z-Line professional hoods over these secondary ranges are the other recurring call. The capacitive touch pad on the speed control takes grease in through the seam and the buttons go intermittent. The blower motor is almost always fine. We carry the broiler ignitor and thermocouple kit and bench-test the gas valve micro-switch before we close up, so the range job is one trip.

- Infrared broiler ignitor and thermocouple kit. Pro and Autograph 36 and 48 inch. The ignitor and upper thermocouple fail as a pair. We replace both and verify the gas valve micro-switch.
- Range hood touch-board repair. Grease ingress at the seam kills the capacitive speed buttons. Clean, re-seal, replace the board only if the sensors test dead.
- Dual-fuel cool-down fan that won't shut off. Mislocated thermistor in the airflow path on early runs. The fix is a relocation bracket, not a straight swap. Covered under Z-Line parts warranty when filed right.
- Burner ignition and re-light troubleshooting. Spark module, igniter electrodes, and gas-valve continuity on the pro burners. Common after a deep clean floods the igniter wells.

How fast can you reach Atherton for a Z-Line call?
We block Mid-Peninsula on routed days, usually two to three days a week, and route Atherton with Hillsborough and Palo Alto. Drive from San Ramon is 45 to 60 minutes. Booked windows get a written arrival time before we leave the shop. -
I thought Z-Line was a budget brand. Is it worth repairing?
