What we close on the truck.
- Broiler that won't fire but the oven still bakes. The infrared broiler burner on Z-Line Pro and Autograph Edition ranges runs hotter than the bake burner, so the ignitor and the upper thermocouple give out together. I see this in the Westlake and Serramonte remodels where the range went in around the same time as the kitchen update. Bake works, broiler doesn't. I replace both parts in the same visit.
- Range hood speed buttons acting up. The hood control is a capacitive touch pad, and grease finds its way into the seam over the years. Buttons start skipping or one speed drops out entirely, and homeowners assume the blower died. Nine times out of ten the blower is fine. I clean and reseal the pad first and only swap the control board if the sensors test dead on the bench.
- Ice maker quit or the door won't seal flush. Z-Line fridges sit on a standard residential platform, so the two calls I get most are a dead ice-maker module or a door that doesn't sit flush anymore. On panel-ready fridges in the newer Daly City remodels, the panel adds weight that pulls the hinge side down over time, and the gasket needs to be ordered to the panel part number, not the plain door number.
