- Addition wall furnace not igniting. On older Williams units serving a ductless addition, a failed thermocouple is the common no-heat cause. I confirm the pilot lights, test millivolt output, and replace the thermocouple.
- Sooty burner from light idling. In the mild climate the furnace idles more than it fires, leaving carbon on the burner and a yellow flame. We clean the burner and orifices and confirm a clean blue flame and draft.
- Gas valve no longer opening. Decades-old Williams gas valves stick closed and the burner will not light. We test the valve and safety circuit and replace it with the correct Williams part.
