  • Rear bearing failure on Duet front-load washers. A Duet that sounds like a jet on final approach during spin has worn rear bearings, usually after years of heavy linen loads. On many models the bearing comes only as part of the outer tub, so I quote it straight: sometimes the repair pencils out, sometimes the honest answer is a new machine. You get that math in writing before deciding.
  • Thermal fuse trips on WED dryers with long duct runs. Atherton laundry rooms sit deep inside large floor plans, and the duct run to the exterior wall can be 25 feet or more. Lint builds, airflow drops, the dryer overheats, and the thermal fuse opens so the machine plays dead. I replace the fuse, verify the high-limit thermostat, and measure static pressure in the duct, because a fuse without an airflow fix just fails again.
  • Shared-platform failures on KitchenAid built-in fridges. KitchenAid built-in fridges in Atherton prep kitchens are Whirlpool underneath, same compressor family, same evap fan, same board family.
