Salt air off the ocean is the defining fact of U-Line service out here. It works on any outdoor or semi-outdoor unit far faster than it does inland, and I plan every repair with that in mind.
The homes near Ocean Colony and the ones tucked behind Main Street tend to run wine reserves and beverage centers as part of an outdoor kitchen built for entertaining after a walk down to the harbor restaurants. Indoor wine reserves in the older Main Street area homes hold up better simply because they are not exposed to the fog and salt.
We are ADRIUM Service Solutions, based in San Ramon, EPA 608 certified for refrigerant handling, and we now run a technician based on the Peninsula who covers the full Coastside. I use marine-grade parts on anything within reach of that ocean air, condenser-fan motors especially, because a standard motor corrodes out here in a fraction of the time it would in Belmont or Redwood City.

- Outdoor unit condenser-fan motor. Salt air corrodes a standard condenser-fan motor fast out here. I install marine-grade replacements on every Coastside outdoor or semi-outdoor unit, whether it is Half Moon Bay, Montara, or El Granada.
- Wine reserve dual-zone thermal-electric module. One zone drifts warm, usually the side closest to an exterior wall in these coastal builds. Module swap and recalibration, and I check the gasket for moisture damage while I am in there.
- Beverage center fan motor and thermistor. Warm drinks and a fan straining against the damp coastal air. I replace the motor and thermistor, then check the door seal for any sign of salt intrusion.
