I confirm zone temps with probes, then test the damper actuation and fan before anyone starts talking about refrigerant.
Evaporator fan failure, unit runs but won't cool. A U-Line with a running compressor and a warm cabinet often has a dead evaporator fan. The coil gets cold, but nothing moves that cold air into the cabinet, and the coil ices into a block. The giveaway is a quiet unit that used to have a faint hum. Fan motors for the 1000 and 2000 series are a standard van-stock part for us.
Control board relay sticking after hot summers. Repeated high-heat run time is rough on the compressor relay on the main board. A stuck relay either never starts the compressor or never shuts it off, and the second failure freezes wine bottles.
