Castro Valley is one of our shortest runs. Crow Canyon Road drops us straight from San Ramon into the valley, so a Thermador call here rarely waits more than a day. Most of what we see is 1950s and 60s ranch homes that got serious kitchen remodels in the last ten years, with a PRG366 or PRD486 dropped into the old footprint.

Those remodels create a specific problem set. The range is new but the cabinet clearances, the gas supply, and the ventilation are inherited from the original kitchen. Star Burner ignition faults are the number one call, either a single burner sparking without lighting or the full bank of ignitors clicking together. Second is the Freedom column refrigeration that came with the same remodel, usually seven to ten years in and starting to show fan or defrost trouble.

Star Burner will not light after a deep clean. This is a Castro Valley classic. Someone scrubs the cooktop, the burner caps go back slightly rotated or wet, and the ignition never recovers. Sometimes it really is just cap seating and drying. Sometimes the water reached the spark ignitor and shorted it. I test the spark path properly instead of guessing, because replacing an ignitor that only needed drying wastes your money.
Continuous clicking from the ignition module. When the reignition system on a Pro Harmony keeps sparking with the flame already lit, the flame sensing circuit is not seeing the flame. Dirty or corroded burner caps, a failing ignitor, or a weak spark module all cause it. We isolate which component it is and replace only that.
Freedom column ice maker quits. On T18ID and T24IR columns the ice maker usually stops because the fill tube freezes or the water inlet valve weakens, not because the ice maker itself died. We check fill volume and valve operation before condemning the unit. If the sealed system is involved I handle the refrigerant side myself under my EPA 608 Universal certification.
