Sub-Zero in Fremont

Sub-Zero in Fremont kitchens.

Fremont has some of the newest Sub-Zero installations I service. The bigger homes in Mission San Jose and up against the hills often run 48 inch units, including PRO 48s and BI-42SD and BI-48SD models installed within the last ten to fifteen years. These are dual refrigeration systems, two compressors and two evaporators in one cabinet, and they fail differently from a normal refrigerator.

I am Andrew Kuznetsov, and my company ADRIUM Service Solutions is based in San Ramon, about 25 minutes up 680 from most of Fremont. I carry EPA Section 608 Universal certification for sealed system work and CSLB #1136642. Every repair starts with a written quote, the $75 diagnostic is waived with repair, and finished work carries a one year parts and labor warranty.

The dual system design is actually good news for Fremont owners. When one side goes warm, the other side keeps working, which tells me a lot about the fault before I even open the grille.

What the work looks like

A built-in sealed-system leak repair.

Nitrogen pressure and a soap-bubble test on a built-in fridge line set. We map every leak source before we braze.
The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why a real fix rebuilds the sealed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.

Brazing a new line onto the compressor during the same kind of sealed-system repair. Recover, braze, evacuate, and recharge: the real fix, done as one complete job.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • One side warm on a PRO 48 or BI series. Freezer fine, refrigerator warm, or the reverse. Because these units run separate compressors per side, a single warm compartment points at that side's compressor, evaporator, fan, or charge. I isolate which it is with temperature and pressure readings rather than guessing, since a fan motor and a sealed system leak produce the same complaint but very different quotes.
  • Thermistor faults throwing error codes. Newer BI series units log error codes when a thermistor reads out of range, and the unit compensates badly in the meantime, either overfreezing produce or letting the compartment drift. Thermistor replacement is quick once the code and the resistance readings agree. I check all of them while I am in there because they age together.
  • Hinge cartridge wear on tall panel doors. Fremont remodels love full-height cabinet panels, and that weight works the hinge cartridges hard. The first sign is a door that does not quite self-close from a few inches out. Fixing it early is a hardware job. Waiting turns it into gasket damage, frost, and long compressor run times.

FAQ

Sub-Zero in Fremont questions, answered.

  • How quickly can you get to Fremont from San Ramon?
Usually 25 to 30 minutes straight down 680. Fremont anchors my southern route along with Newark, Union City, and Milpitas, and I also come through when heading to Oakland-side jobs via 880, so scheduling is flexible. We book 7 days a week.
  • Both sides of my Sub-Zero have their own compressor. Does a repair on one side affect the other?
No. The two systems are independent, which is one reason these units are worth repairing. I fix the failed side, verify the healthy side's pressures and temperatures while I am there, and the repair carries a one year parts and labor warranty.
  • What do I pay if I decline the repair quote?
Just the $75 diagnostic. You still leave with a written quote and a clear explanation of the fault, so whatever you decide next is an informed decision. Approve the repair and the $75 is waived.
