Samsung in Rodeo

Samsung in Rodeo kitchens.

Rodeo's Bayo Vista and Oleum area is mostly small to mid-size homes and townhomes, many built between 1940 and 1969. On a Samsung four-door with a FlexZone drawer, the part that tends to fail is the flap motor that switches the zone between fridge and freezer. The symptom is simple: tap the touchscreen and the drawer will not change modes.

We confirm the motor fault on site and put the repair in a written quote before work begins. Rodeo, Crockett and Port Costa are all covered by our technician based in Benicia. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward that repair if you go ahead.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Laundry

How to spot a bad washer drain pump.

LG and Samsung washer drain pumps side by side. When a washer will not drain or hums at the end of a cycle, this small pump is the usual suspect, and the two brands fail in different ways.

Common repairs we handle.

  • FlexZone drawer stuck in one mode. The flap motor opens and closes the air path that sets the FlexZone temperature. When it fails, the drawer stays at one setting no matter what the screen says. We check the motor and its signal from the board, replace the motor, and cycle the zone through each mode before closing up.
  • Water on the floor in front of the refrigerator. A seeping inlet valve fitting or a cracked supply line behind a Samsung can pool water under the unit. We pull it out, dry the area, find the leak, and replace the valve or the line. If the solenoid is weak as well, the valve is replaced rather than resealed.
  • Front loader stopping with a 3E or 3C code. These codes come from the motor side. The hall sensor on the motor tells the board how fast the drum turns, and a loose plug or a failed sensor stops the cycle. We test the sensor and the connection before the motor, since the motor is the bigger part.

FAQ

Samsung in Rodeo questions, answered.

  • Do you take Samsung calls in Crockett and Port Costa too?
Yes. Crockett and Port Costa get the same diagnostic, credited the same way, and the same written quote before any work.
  • The FlexZone on our Bayo Vista townhome fridge is stuck on freezer. Can food stay in it?
Move anything that should not freeze. Until the flap motor is replaced, the drawer stays at whatever setting it failed in. The rest of the refrigerator keeps working normally, so the repair can be scheduled without emptying the whole unit.
  • Is a four-door Samsung in an older Rodeo house worth repairing?
Usually. A flap motor, a fan or a board is a contained repair on a four-door. We would only steer you toward replacement if the fresh-food coil is icing from an air leak or a coil-tube leak, and we explain that before any money is spent.
