Samsung in Hercules

Samsung in Hercules kitchens.

Hercules is mostly two-story homes, from the 1970s and 1980s subdivisions off Refugio Valley Road to newer ones near the bay. When the laundry sits upstairs, a Samsung washer's leak code deserves attention. An LC or LE means the sensor in the base caught water, and water in the base of an upstairs washer can end up in the ceiling below.

We find where it came from before anything else: a torn door boot, a loose hose at the pump, a detergent drawer housing that overflows, or too much detergent making suds. Our technician for Hercules is based in Benicia. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and the quote is written before work begins.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Laundry

How to spot a bad washer drain pump.

LG and Samsung washer drain pumps side by side. When a washer will not drain or hums at the end of a cycle, this small pump is the usual suspect, and the two brands fail in different ways.

Common repairs we handle.

  • LC or LE leak code on a front loader. We dry the base, take off the lower panel and run a fill while we watch for the drip. The door boot, the pump and its hoses, and the detergent drawer housing are the usual suspects. The leaking part is replaced and the base dried out so the code clears for the right reason.
  • Washer that stops with a 3E or 3C code. A 3E or 3C points at the drive motor or the hall sensor that reads its speed. We check the connectors and wiring at the motor, read the sensor, and test the motor windings. The sensor is the smaller part and gets ruled in or out first.
  • Fresh-food side warm while the freezer holds. We check the fresh-food evaporator fan, the coil for frost, and the main board outputs before looking at refrigerant. A stopped fan or a failed board is a far smaller repair than sealed-system work, and on a Samsung the diagnosis is largely board-level.

FAQ

Samsung in Hercules questions, answered.

  • Our laundry is upstairs in the Trees and Flowers subdivision. Should we put a pan under the washer?
It is good insurance. A pan with its own drain line catches a slow drip before the ceiling does. It will not fix the leak itself, though, and an LC or LE code means water is already escaping somewhere.
  • Does a leak code mean our Samsung washer is finished?
No. An LC or LE usually traces to one part, such as a torn door boot or a loose pump hose, and those are ordinary repairs. We find the source of the water before quoting, so you are not paying for guesses.
  • We have a Samsung washer and dryer in a Hercules by the Bay townhome. Can both be looked at in one visit?
Yes. Send both model numbers when you book so we can bring the likely parts, and you get a written quote covering both before any work starts.
