Perlick in Lafayette
Perlick commercial service.
Lafayette's dining scene is compressed into Mt. Diablo Boulevard, and the bars and restaurant service stations along it lean on Perlick undercounter and back-bar refrigeration to keep tight floor plans working. Up in the hills, remodeled kitchens and patio bars add Signature Series units, and I see more outdoor draft setups here every year. Commercial work runs through our division, Bay Area Refrigeration Service.
Lafayette is inside our core East Bay loop, about 20 minutes from San Ramon through the 680 and 24 interchange. That proximity matters when a restaurant loses its back-bar cooler at 4 pm with a full Friday book. Call, and we triage immediately. Diagnostic is $99, credited toward the repair, with a written quote first.

Common repairs we handle.
- Back-bar cooler drifting warm during evening service. Boulevard restaurants run these units hard in warm, tight service stations. Grease-laden dust seals the condenser, and by the dinner rush the cabinet is at 45. Coil cleaning and a condenser fan check restore capacity, and I verify recovery time before I leave.
- Glass froster iced solid and no longer frosting. An FR24 that ices into a block usually has a defrost or door-seal problem, not a dead compressor. I clear the coil, replace worn gaskets, and check the control so the froster holds its deep cold without freezing itself shut.
- Patio beverage center failing on hot Lafayette afternoons. West-facing patios up in the hills hit triple-digit surface temps. Units rated for outdoor use still lose ground when the condenser is dirty or the fan is weak. I service both and, when the install allows, improve shading and clearance so the fix holds through summer.

FAQ
Perlick in Lafayette questions, answered.
-
How fast can you reach Lafayette from San Ramon?
About 20 minutes via 680 and Highway 24. Lafayette sits in our home loop with Walnut Creek, Alamo, and Orinda, so same or next-day service is normal. -
Our restaurant cannot lose the bar for a full day. How do you handle that?
I diagnose fast. If a part must be ordered, I stabilize what I can and schedule the return around your service hours, including before open or after close. -
Is the diagnostic fee separate from the repair?
The $99 on-site diagnosis is credited toward the repair. You get findings and pricing in writing before any parts go in, and the repair carries a 1-year warranty.
