San Mateo is where our Peninsula technician actually lives, so this is about as close to home turf as it gets outside San Ramon itself. The restaurants along B Street downtown and the taquerias and pupuserias on 25th Avenue both run Panasonic NE Pro microwaves hard through lunch and dinner.

Because he's already in San Mateo day to day, a dead unit on B Street or 25th Avenue doesn't sit waiting on a truck crossing the bay from San Ramon.

What we close on the truck.

Inverter high-voltage board. The inverter board is the part that fails most on the NE Pro line, and it's also the part people misdiagnose from the outside. Unit powers up, light's on, turntable spins, but nothing gets hot. I test it under load before I call it and before ordering one.
Magnetron replacement. Food coming out warm but not hot after a full cycle points to the magnetron losing output, not a bad timer. I verify that before telling a restaurant they need a new one.
Door interlock switches and line fuse. A busy restaurant kitchen puts more wear on the door interlock switches than almost anything else on the unit, and once one fails it can lock the microwave out entirely or blow the line fuse trying. I trace the actual failure instead of replacing the whole switch set on a guess.
