Panasonic in Burlingame
Panasonic commercial service.
Between the Broadway restaurant row and the hotel cluster serving SFO, Burlingame runs a lot of Panasonic commercial microwaves. The NE series Pro units sit on restaurant lines steaming and reheating all day, and the hotel pantries near the airport lean on them around the clock. When one quits, the kitchen feels it immediately.
Most of the Panasonic units we open in Burlingame use the Inverter high-voltage supply instead of a conventional transformer. That changes the failure pattern. Instead of a hum-and-dead transformer, you get inverter board faults with specific error codes, and swapping a magnetron blindly wastes money. I diagnose the high-voltage side properly and quote the actual failed component.
The $75 diagnostic is waived with repair, and every repair carries a 1-year warranty. We work 7 days because restaurant equipment does not fail on a schedule.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Inverter power supply failure. H97 and H98 class faults on NE Pro units usually trace to the inverter board or its connection to the magnetron. The unit runs the timer but does not heat, or trips its own protection mid-cycle. We test the inverter output and the magnetron separately, then replace only the part that actually failed.
- Door switch and interlock wear. A Burlingame line cook slams that door hundreds of times a shift. Interlock switches and door latch assemblies wear until the unit refuses to start or blows fuses. We replace the switch set and adjust the latch geometry, because putting one new switch on a worn latch is a two-week fix at best.
- Magnetron degradation. When heat output fades and reheat times creep up, the magnetron is losing emission. On inverter units we confirm the drive signal is healthy first, since a weak inverter mimics a weak magnetron. Then we install the correct Panasonic magnetron and verify output with a water load test.

FAQ
Panasonic in Burlingame questions, answered.
-
Our hotel pantry near SFO lost its microwave. How quickly can you reach Burlingame from San Ramon?
Roughly 45 minutes via the San Mateo Bridge and 101 north. Burlingame, Hillsborough, and the surrounding Peninsula cities are one routing block for us, so we can usually fold an urgent call into the same day. Tell us the model number when you call and we improve the odds of a first-visit fix. -
Is a commercial Panasonic worth fixing versus buying a countertop unit from a box store?
Yes, and the math is simple. An NE Pro is built for hundreds of cycles a day and a residential unit dies in months under that load, and it is not rated for commercial use anyway. A board or magnetron replacement with a written quote and a 1-year warranty keeps a proper machine on your line. -
Do you handle the high-voltage section safely on site?
We do this work daily. Microwave high-voltage circuits hold lethal charge after unplugging, so we discharge and test before touching anything. That is also my honest advice for kitchen staff: do not open the cabinet yourself, even with the unit unplugged.
