- Ice maker and water line problems. Being based here, a lot of my San Ramon Monogram calls are ice and water. No ice, hollow or half-size cubes, or a slow leak under the unit. On these built-ins the usual suspects are the water inlet valve, a fill tube that froze over, or a clogged drain sending water where it should not go. We test the valve, thaw and inspect the tube, and clear the drain, then watch a full ice cycle complete before calling it done.
- Built-in refrigeration that stops cooling. A Monogram column in a Gale Ranch or Windemere kitchen that drifts warm, with the compressor running hard, usually has a sealed-system fault. We check the easy causes first (evaporator fan, defrost, door seals), then open the sealed system under proper EPA 608 recovery when the diagnosis points there. These units are built to be rebuilt, so on a warm box we repair rather than replace.
- Control board and electronics. A dark display, a range that locks up, or a fridge that ignores its settings points to the control board or interface. Before I condemn a board I check what it is reading, since a dead thermistor or a loose plug behaves just like a failed board and I do not want you paying for the wrong part. When the board is genuinely failed we fit the correct revision and confirm the unit runs clean afterward.
