Cabinet installs create their own failure pattern. Undercounter units need the airflow the spec sheet asks for, and cabinet makers routinely give them less. The machine runs hot its whole life, and components age at double speed. When I service a built-in unit I check the ventilation path first, because replacing parts into a bad install just schedules the next failure.

What we close on the truck.

Heat-stressed components in tight cabinetry. Starved airflow cooks start relays, fan motors, and compressors years early. We measure the actual temperature the unit sees inside the cabinet, fix the failed part, and tell you honestly whether a vent grille or a spacer kit is needed to stop the cycle. Sometimes a $40 louver saves a $900 compressor.
Conductivity probe faults on filtered water systems. Many Hillsborough homes layer softeners and fine filtration on top of already-soft Hetch Hetchy water, and Manitowoc's thickness probe needs some mineral content to sense the water. The result is long freeze faults on a healthy machine. We adjust the feed water setup so the probe reads correctly without hurting ice clarity.
Harvest failures on undercounter NEO units. When cubes bridge into a sheet that will not drop, the usual suspects are the harvest valve and a scaled evaporator, in that order. On the compact NEO platform access is tight, and I have seen these units damaged by techs who forced panels. We open them the way the factory seminar taught, with the right sequence.
