Common issues we see

What breaks. What we fix.

Factory-certified by Manitowoc in February 2026. We are the Bay Area service team that completed the Manitowoc Ice and Koolaire Field Service Seminar under Jonathan Binley at Pentair Water Solutions. The certificate is on this page.

Indigo NXT machines run a self-diagnostic suite that throws clear codes when the operator reads them. The most common call is the harvest-cycle hang. Ice forms on the evap but won’t drop. The water curtain hasn’t cycled the harvest valve, or the harvest sensor is iced over. We carry the harvest valve coil and the curtain switch on the truck. Eight times out of ten we close the call same day.

The Indigo NXT and the NEO undercounter share a condenser-clean reminder code that the owner ignores until the unit shuts down on a high-pressure fault. The fix is the coil clean and the air-filter swap. We service-cycle the unit, log the cleaning interval, and leave a maintenance schedule taped inside the panel. Restaurants that follow it get four more years out of the machine.

QuietQube remote condenser systems fail at the head-pressure regulator on roof-mounted condensers. The Bay Area’s daily summer-to-evening temperature swing cycles the valve hard. We pressure-test, replace the regulator if it’s drifting, and verify the head pressure at peak ambient.

Koolaire (Manitowoc’s value brand) shares 80% of the Indigo parts and we stock both. If you have a Koolaire under warranty, the factory training counts for that paperwork too.

Water filters: change every six months on Bay Area hard water, not the twelve-month interval the printed manual lists. Ask us about a service contract that includes filter swaps.

FAQ

Manitowoc questions, answered.

  • What does the Manitowoc Certified credential mean for me?
Andrew completed the Manitowoc Ice and Koolaire Field Service Seminar at Pentair Water Solutions in February 2026. We are factory-trained on Indigo NXT, NEO undercounter, QuietQube, and Koolaire diagnostics and warranty procedures. The certificate is on this page.
  • How much does a Manitowoc Indigo NXT control board cost?
Boards run $480 to $620 depending on model. We test the board before ordering, because a harvest-cycle hang is more often a harvest valve coil or curtain switch (both under $90 parts).
  • Why does my Indigo NXT keep throwing a high-pressure shutdown?
Condenser coil is filthy. The reminder code gets ignored until the unit shuts down. We coil-clean, swap the air filter, and log the cleaning interval inside the panel so the schedule sticks.
  • Do you handle warranty work for Manitowoc and Koolaire?
Yes. The factory training covers both brands. We file warranty paperwork directly.
  • How often should I change my Manitowoc water filter?
Every six months on Bay Area hard water. The printed manual says twelve. The manual is wrong for this region.
