Eventually the machine shuts down on high pressure, usually on a busy day. The reminder means the condenser needs cleaning. We clean it, replace the air filter, and can put the machine on a schedule so the reminder does not turn into a shutdown.

EBMUD water is soft to moderate. Do we still need a filter on our Manitowoc?

Yes. A filter catches sediment and chlorine taste as well as scale, and it protects the water valves. On EBMUD water a cartridge tends to last longer than on harder supplies, but it still wears out. We check it on every visit and note the next change date.

We are opening in one of the new Waterfront buildings. Can you check the ice machine before we open?

Yes. A pre-opening check covers the water supply and filter, the drain, the clearance around the condenser, and a full freeze and harvest cycle. A drain or clearance problem is much easier to fix before the counter is built around the machine.

Water here comes from EBMUD and is soft to moderate, so scale builds slowly. On a NEO undercounter the more common trouble is air, not water. The condenser-clean reminder comes up on the display, nobody acts on it, and the machine eventually stops on a high-pressure fault.

We write the quote before starting, and after a maintenance visit we leave a cleaning schedule taped inside the panel.

Common repairs we handle.

NEO undercounter stopped on a high-pressure fault. An undercounter machine breathes through a small front grille, and dust, lint and grease pack its condenser quickly. When the reminder code is ignored, head pressure climbs until the control shuts the machine down. We clean the coil, replace the air filter, reset the fault and log the cleaning date.
Water pump that hums but moves little water. A worn or clogged water pump cannot wet the whole evaporator, so the freeze cycle stretches and cubes come out partial. We clean the pump and the distribution tube, check the pump motor's draw, and replace the pump if the bearing is going.
Falling production with a clean condenser. When cleaning and airflow check out but production keeps dropping, we put gauges on the refrigeration side. A leak, a harvest valve that leaks through, or a weak compressor each leaves a different pattern. Repairs on that side are done under ADRIUM's EPA 608 Universal certification and quoted in writing first.
