Match the repair to the range

Lacanche’s US range catalog includes Classique and Moderne designs, from Cormatin through Cluny and Chagny to the wider Sully models. The exterior name doesn’t tell us everything about the equipment inside. Oven fuel and cooktop configuration matter when identifying a replacement part.

The Cluny has two ovens that can be specified as gas, electric, or one of each. Other configurations add a separate broiler, a convection oven or a warming cupboard. A warming cupboard has a different job from a baking oven; we establish which compartment you’re describing before diagnosing its heat.

On the cooktop, the Classique layout has an open central burner. The Traditional layout puts a cast-iron plate above the central burner. A photo of the whole top helps distinguish that plate from an optional cooking surface.

Burner, oven and door problems

For a burner that clicks but doesn’t light, we inspect the ignition and burner assembly on the installed range. If an electric oven stops heating, the diagnosis follows its heating circuit and controls. Poor baking temperature calls for a temperature check, not an automatic thermostat order.

A door that won’t close properly also needs attention. Describe any gap, loose handle or uneven hinge movement when you book. Leave the range in place; access around the cabinetry can be assessed at the visit.
