KitchenAid in Concord

KitchenAid in Concord kitchens.

Concord is the biggest city in Contra Costa County, and its kitchens show every decade of it. The tract homes off Clayton Road and around Ygnacio Valley carry a lot of 1990s and 2000s KitchenAid, still running, still worth fixing. Newer remodels near Todos Santos Plaza and in the Crossings tend toward current KDTM dishwashers and KFDC commercial-style dual fuel ranges. We service the full spread, seven days a week, from our base in San Ramon straight up 680.

The useful thing to know about KitchenAid is that it is the upscale badge of the Whirlpool group. The diagnostic playbook carries across Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana: same compressor lineage, same pump designs, same board families. So when a Concord homeowner tells me the symptoms on the phone, I can usually arrive with the right part already in the van instead of booking a second trip.

ADRIUM Service Solutions is owner-operated by Andrew Kuznetsov. EPA Section 608 Universal certified for sealed system work, CSLB #1136642. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair, and every quote is written before work starts.

What the work looks like

A built-in sealed-system leak repair.

Nitrogen pressure and a soap-bubble test on a built-in fridge line set. We map every leak source before we braze.
The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why a real fix rebuilds the sealed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.
ADRIUM technician brazing a copper refrigerant line onto a compressor with a torch during a sealed-system repair
Brazing a new line onto the compressor during the same kind of sealed-system repair. Recover, braze, evacuate, and recharge: the real fix, done as one complete job.

What the work looks like

A dishwasher leaking from the pump and sump.

The base of a Whirlpool-family dishwasher, where the circulation pump, sump, and diverter live. A worn pump seal, a cracked sump, or the diverter lets water past and onto the floor.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • KFDC dual fuel range oven not reaching temperature. The KitchenAid commercial-style dual fuel ranges bake with electric elements but light the rangetop with gas. When the oven heats slowly or overshoots, the usual suspects are a drifted oven sensor or a relay on the control that is welding shut. On the gas top, a burner that lights lazily points at a weak spark electrode. I test each circuit with a meter rather than swapping parts by guess, because these ranges are expensive to shotgun.
  • Ice maker making a tray a day instead of a bin. Slow ice on KitchenAid French doors is rarely the ice maker itself. In-door ice systems depend on a small air duct that frosts shut and on water pressure through the inlet valve. Concord water is moderately hard, and scaled inlet valves that only half-open are common here. I measure the fill volume and check the duct before quoting, since a valve is a far cheaper fix than an ice maker assembly.
  • Dishwasher grinding or droning mid-cycle. A KitchenAid dishwasher that starts droning ten minutes into the cycle usually has a circulation pump bearing on the way out, and sometimes glass fragments riding in the impeller. On the shared Whirlpool sump design I can pull the pump from inside the tub in many cases, which keeps labor reasonable. I bring the wash motor for the common KDTE and KDTM series when the phone description fits.

FAQ

KitchenAid in Concord questions, answered.

  • How long does it take you to reach Concord from San Ramon?
About 25 to 30 minutes north on 680, past Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. We treat the Diablo Valley corridor as a single route, so Concord visits get grouped with Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, and Martinez stops. That keeps our arrival windows tight instead of the four-hour spread you get from bigger outfits.
  • Will you tell me if the machine is not worth fixing?
Yes, and in writing. If a 14-year-old dishwasher needs a pump and a board, I will say plainly that the money is better spent on a new unit, and what I would buy instead. The $75 diagnostic covers that honest assessment. It is waived if you go ahead with a repair.
  • Do you handle the sealed system, or just the easy parts?
We do sealed system work. I hold EPA Section 608 Universal certification, so compressor and refrigerant repairs on KitchenAid built-ins and French doors are done in-house, legally and properly, not subbed out or declined.
