What breaks. What we fix.
Common issues
Haier is a newer Chinese brand, but its parts now run through GE, which means a Haier is repairable. Think of it as a budget version of a GE: lower price point, same basic serviceability. We don’t see them that often yet, but when one comes in, it is usually a real fix.
The reason it is worth servicing comes down to parts. Because Haier sits under GE now, the parts pipeline is the same one we already use for GE refrigerators. That is the dividing line between a repairable fridge and a throwaway one. Plenty of newer budget brands have no parts behind them at all. Haier does.
We haven’t logged a long history on Haier, because we don’t run into them often yet. What we expect lines up with the GE family: the same kinds of fan, board, and sealed-system parts, sourced through the same GE channel. We are EPA-certified (EPA #1279674151528) for the sealed-system and refrigerant work when it is needed. When we diagnose one, we tell you exactly what failed and what it takes to fix it.
On a budget fridge the math matters more, and we’ll run it with you honestly. Because the parts are GE-backed, a Haier is often worth repairing rather than tossing. But if a repair costs more than the fridge is worth, we’ll say so. The $75 service call is flat and includes full diagnostics. Most repairs run from $250 plus parts, tracking what we’d see on a comparable GE repair. We quote before any work.
