- GE Cafe french door refrigerator icemaker failures. The icemaker on a Cafe CFE28 or similar french door box has one well known failure point, the motor module or a frozen fill tube starving the ice bin. Before I write up a new icemaker, I check the inlet valve and fill path, since that is the actual cause roughly half the time.
