A clogged defrost drain sends melt water into the fresh-food section instead of the pan underneath, where it freezes on the floor of the fridge or pools under the drawers. We clear the drain line, check that it stays open through a defrost cycle, and dry out the cabinet.
- GE dryer that tumbles but stays cold. On an electric GE dryer we test the heating element, the thermal fuse and the high-limit thermostat. On gas, the igniter and the valve coils. A blown thermal fuse usually has a cause behind it, so we check airflow through the back of the machine and tell you if the duct needs attention.
