That column gets the full sealed-system treatment. It runs its own system behind a panel-ready front, and on a unit installed during the same remodel wave as the Thermador and Bosch next to it, a slow refrigerant leak is the usual reason it stops cooling. We trace the leak, rebuild the sealed system, and recharge under EPA certification. Standard Frigidaire top-freezer and side-by-side units turn up too, mostly in the older Old Mountain View bungalows that haven't been remodeled yet. Those sell for a few hundred dollars new, and a compressor failure on one costs more to fix than the fridge is worth. We'll say that before opening anything up.
