Orinda's small downtown near the theatre has a handful of cafes running Horizon Elite units to keep up with the morning and lunch crowd, and I've serviced most of them at some point.

The bigger share of my work here is residential, hillside estate homes with a built-in wine cellar or wet bar that includes a commercial-style ice unit as part of the design. Those homes tend to run the unit lightly, entertaining a few times a month, but the internal wear pattern doesn't care how often it's used, it happens on its own schedule.

What we close on the truck.

Condenser coil fouled inside a wet bar enclosure. A unit built into a wet bar or wine cellar cabinet often has less airflow around it than a standalone restaurant machine, so the condenser coil traps dust and lint from the surrounding wood and fabric faster than you'd expect. Once it's fouled, the unit can't reject heat properly, head pressure and amp draw rise every cycle, and the run capacitor is usually the first casualty since it's the weakest electrical part in that circuit.
Water line or drain partially blocked. Even a lightly used estate unit builds mineral scale in the fill valve over time, especially on hillside properties with harder well or municipal water. That shows up as a low production error rather than a full shutdown, so a homeowner might not notice until the ice bin runs low during a dinner party.
Auger motor and gearbox wear despite light use. I get called out to Orinda estate units that see maybe ten hours of runtime a month and still find the auger flight worn or the gear train loose. The wear comes from age and from the machine sitting idle for long stretches between uses just as much as from steady work, so light use doesn't mean the gearbox lasts forever.
