Lid actuator wear on double DishDrawers. Around year five the lid actuator on a double DishDrawer stops driving the lid down fully. You get an F1 fault, the drawer will not lock, and nothing runs. The fix is a new actuator, and while I am in there I inspect the lid seal, because a hardened seal will kill the new actuator early.
Rotor position sensor, F2 fault. The DishDrawer wash motor is a direct-drive design, and when the rotor position sensor drifts the unit throws F2 and stops mid-cycle. Castro Valley homeowners often describe it as the machine starting, going quiet, then beeping. Sensor replacement is straightforward once the drawer is out on the bench.
CoolDrawer stuck in one temperature mode. The multi-mode CoolDrawer shows up in Castro Valley remodels as a beverage or produce drawer. When it refuses to switch between fridge and freezer modes, the damper or control board is the usual cause. I diagnose which one before quoting, since the parts differ a lot in price.
