Breville in San Bruno
Breville in San Bruno kitchens.
San Bruno sits right under the SFO flight path, and the morning routine here often starts with a shot of espresso before the commute down 101 or over to YouTube's campus. I see Breville machines in the hillside homes off Skyline Boulevard just as often as in the newer condos that went up around Tanforan and the older flats near downtown San Bruno Avenue.
The BES920 Dual Boiler has a known weak point at the o-ring under the boiler, and it is one of the more common repairs I run into in San Bruno. It hardens with age and starts to weep, and by the time you notice a puddle under the machine, the leak has usually been building for a while. The Oracle and Oracle Touch bring their own issue, a steam solenoid that scales up and starts hissing instead of steaming properly.
ADRIUM Service Solutions is an independent shop, owner-operated and based in San Ramon. We don't claim any Breville certification or factory tie, we just work on the machines. We carry CSLB #1136642, we are EPA 608 certified, and we're on the job 7 days a week.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Dual Boiler o-ring leak under the base. The o-ring under the boiler on the BES920 hardens over time and starts to weep, usually showing up as a small puddle under the machine or water pooling on the drip tray for no obvious reason. I pull the base panel, replace the o-ring, and run a pressure test before closing it back up, since a rushed reseal here just leaks again in a few weeks.
- Steam solenoid scales up and hissing replaces steam. A steam wand that hisses weakly instead of putting out real steam, especially on a machine that has never been descaled, usually means the steam solenoid or the steam boiler itself has scaled. I clear the wand tip, test the solenoid under pressure, and descale the steam side so the fix holds instead of clogging back up in a month.
- Uneven shots from a tired vibratory pump. When the pump on an Oracle or Dual Boiler starts to age out, pressure climbs slowly instead of hitting target fast, and shots start channeling even with a good grind and dose. I gauge the pump output against spec and replace it along with the OPV if both are past where they should be, since replacing one and leaving the other tends to bring you back to my bench.

FAQ
Breville in San Bruno questions, answered.
-
My machine only leaks when it's been running a while. Is that still the o-ring?
Often yes. The boiler o-ring on the BES920 tends to leak more once the machine has been hot and under pressure for a stretch, which is why it can look fine on a quick cold test and still drip mid-morning. I run the machine hot before I call a repair finished, not just cold, so we actually catch it. -
