Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Over-pressure, spraying, and channeling shots. When a Breville Dual Boiler runs above nine bar, the shot sprays and channels no matter how you tamp. The usual cause is an OPV that has drifted high or a pump not regulating. I put a gauge on the group, reset the OPV, and verify the pump holds pressure under load so the puck sees the right force.
Pump surging or cutting out mid-shot. A pump that pulses or drops out partway through a shot is often failing electrically or starved by a clogged inlet. I check the pump draw, the check valve, and the water path, then replace the pump only if it will not hold after the line is clear.
Grinder dose drifting on the Oracle. The Oracle grinds, doses, and tamps on its own, and that mechanism wears. When the dose or tamp goes off, I clean and align the burrs, check the tamp motor and the dose sensor, and recalibrate so each shot starts consistent again.
