Bertazzoni in Walnut Creek

Bertazzoni in Walnut Creek kitchens.

Walnut Creek's kitchens split along its neighborhoods. Northgate, Walnut Heights and the homes east of Ygnacio Valley Road carry estate remodels, and a Bertazzoni range there sits among other premium built-ins, many of them installed long enough ago that the manufacturer's warranty has run out. Rossmoor and the older flatlands near downtown have smaller kitchens, where a Bertazzoni cooktop or compact range makes the most of the space.

Once the manufacturer's warranty has ended, the order of testing matters more, because every guessed part is paid for. On a range where no burner sparks, the spark module is the obvious suspect, but a single shorted switch or a pinched wire can pull the whole circuit down and look the same. Our technician unplugs the switches one at a time and checks the module's output before ordering. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair once you sign off on the written quote.

Common repairs we do

Common repairs we handle.

  • No spark at any burner. A dead module, a shorted switch or a broken lead can each silence all the burners. We isolate the switches, measure the module output and check the leads for cracks, then replace the part at fault and light every burner in turn.
  • Bake element with a bright spot or a blister. An element that shows a glowing hot spot or a blister is close to burning open. We replace it before it fails in the middle of a bake and check the terminals behind it for heat damage.
  • Master Series knobs loose on their stems. Knobs that wobble or pull off with a pan handle have worn inserts, or the flat on the valve stem has rounded. We replace the knob or the valve, depending on which side has worn, so the setting lines up with the markings again.

FAQ

Bertazzoni in Walnut Creek questions, answered.

  • Our Northgate range is out of the manufacturer's warranty. Is a repair still worth it?
Usually. The frame, oven cavity and cooktop of a Bertazzoni rarely fail, and the parts that do are modest next to the price of the range. We test first and quote in writing, so you can compare the repair with a replacement before deciding.
  • We live in Rossmoor. Do you handle Bertazzoni cooktops in the smaller condo kitchens there?
Yes. Cooktops, compact ranges and wall ovens get the same testing as a full-size range. If your building or the community needs contractor details or set work hours, tell us when you book and our technician arrives ready for it.
  • Our oven element glowed bright in one spot and then quit. Is that dangerous?
An element burning through can throw a spark and a short flash, which is startling but stays inside the oven. Turn the oven off at the control and do not use it until the element is replaced. We also check the wiring and terminals, since a failed element can scorch them.
