Bertazzoni in Sunnyvale

Bertazzoni in Sunnyvale kitchens.

Cherry Chase and Cumberland West, in 94087, are 1950s and 60s ranch houses, and many have new kitchens from remodels since 2015. Old Sunnyvale mixes in older houses with remodeled built-in suites, and the townhomes around Murphy Avenue and on the 94089 side are newer. A Bertazzoni here might be an induction cooktop over a wall oven in a Cherry Chase remodel, or a dual-fuel range in a townhome.

Induction asks a lot of an older house's wiring. A large cooktop draws heavily with several zones on high, and in a ranch house rewired only as far as the kitchen, the circuit, the breaker or a connection in between can be the weak link. When the breaker trips or the cooktop cuts power under load, our technician checks the circuit rating, the breaker and the terminal connections before opening the cooktop. You pay $99 for the diagnostic, credited toward the repair, and every repair is quoted in writing.

Common repairs we do

Common repairs we handle.

  • Induction cooktop tripping the breaker on high. We measure the supply under load and check that the breaker and wire gauge match what the cooktop's manual calls for. If the supply is sound, we test the power boards and coils for a short. A loose terminal at the cooktop can scorch the block, so we check that too.
  • One induction zone heating weaker than the rest. A single zone that heats slowly may have a failing coil or a fault in the power module channel that drives it. We compare its output with a zone that works, check the connections, and replace the coil or module that tests weak.
  • Wall oven door that falls open or slams shut. A door that will not hold its position has a weak or broken hinge spring. We replace the hinges as a pair and adjust the door so it holds partway open and closes flush against the gasket.

FAQ

Bertazzoni in Sunnyvale questions, answered.

  • We added a Bertazzoni induction cooktop in our Cherry Chase remodel. Why does it lower power when we use several zones?
Many induction cooktops share power between zones on the same side, so turning one up can turn its neighbor down. That is how the cooktop manages its load, not a fault. If a zone drops power with nothing else running, or shows an error code, our technician checks it.
  • Is it safe to keep resetting the breaker when our cooktop trips it?
No. One reset to see whether it holds is fine, but a breaker that trips again is protecting the wiring. Leave the cooktop off and have the circuit and the cooktop tested. Repeated resets can make a loose connection overheat further.
  • The oven in our Old Sunnyvale house heats, but the convection fan is silent. Where do you start?
At the fan motor and the relay that drives it. We check whether the board sends power to the motor during convection bake, then test the motor itself. A seized motor, a failed relay and a broken wire give the same silence, and each has a different fix.
