Bertazzoni in Palo Alto

Bertazzoni in Palo Alto kitchens.

Palo Alto has whole tracts of Eichlers, in Greenmeadow and Fairmeadow on the 94306 side, with open kitchens that face the living room. Old Palo Alto, Crescent Park and Professorville run larger remodels, and Midtown and University South carry more compact apartment kitchens. Eichler kitchens have moved toward induction over the last decade, and a Bertazzoni induction cooktop on an island suits an open room.

Induction brings its own faults. The electronics need cooling air, so a clogged fan or a blocked intake can shut a zone down, and a cracked glass top means a new glass assembly, not a patch. In an open Eichler room the hood matters too, since the grease the filters miss ends up on the blower and the lights. Our technician checks airflow before electronics. Your visit starts with a $99 diagnostic, credited toward the repair, and the quote comes in writing.

Common repairs we do

Common repairs we handle.

  • Induction zone that will not power up. A single dead zone can be the coil, its connection, or the power module that drives it. We check the fan and vents first, then test the coil and the module output. Cookware matters too: a pan that fails the magnet test will not heat on any induction zone.
  • Cracked glass on an induction cooktop. A crack or chip in the glass is a safety issue, because spills can reach the electronics underneath. The fix is a replacement glass top assembly for your model. We confirm the part and its lead time before you decide, since some imported tops take a while to arrive.
  • Wall oven browning unevenly. Uneven browning in a Bertazzoni wall oven usually points to a convection fan that has slowed, a failing element, or a sensor reading off. We test each one, then run a bake and compare the actual temperature with the setting.

FAQ

Bertazzoni in Palo Alto questions, answered.

  • Our Greenmeadow Eichler has an open kitchen. Does the hood need more care than usual?
It works harder, since there are no walls to hold cooking smoke. Clean the baffle filters about once a month and let the hood run on low for a while after cooking. When the blower gets loud or loses speeds, the speed board and the motor are what we check first.
  • Why does my Bertazzoni induction cooktop ignore some of my pans?
Induction only works with magnetic cookware. If a magnet does not grip the bottom of the pan firmly, the zone will not recognize it, and a very small pan on a large zone can also go unnoticed. If a pan that worked before now fails too, it is time for a diagnostic.
  • Can a Bertazzoni gas cooktop be repaired without taking it out of the island?
Most repairs happen in place: electrodes, burner caps, knobs and valve switches are reached from the top. Replacing a gas valve or the spark module can mean lifting the cooktop out, and we plan for that before starting.
