All-gas oven with a glowing ignitor and no flame. An ignitor can glow orange and still be too weak to open the oven's gas safety valve. If the ignitor reads fine, the valve itself may have failed. We measure the current the ignitor draws, check the valve, and replace only the part that tests bad.
Knobs that are stiff or hard to turn. A knob that fights you often has grease and food packed around the valve stem, or a valve that is wearing out. We clean the knob and stem, check that the valve turns and returns smoothly, and replace a valve that sticks. A stiff gas valve should never be forced.
