Amana in Alamo
Amana in Alamo kitchens.
Alamo properties tend to run big. Half-acre and full-acre lots off Danville Boulevard and Stone Valley Road, a main house, often a pool house or in-law unit behind it. The Amana appliances we see here are rarely in the showpiece kitchen. They sit in the laundry room, the garage, the guest unit. An NED4655EW dryer that has been running two loads a day for eight years, an ART318FFDS refrigerator keeping drinks cold by the pool. These machines get worked hard and forgotten until they stop.
That is actually good news for repair. Amana is the budget line of the Whirlpool family, and under the plain panels it uses the same compressors, pumps, and control boards as the parent platform. Parts are cheap and stocked everywhere, so I can fix most Alamo calls on the first visit from the parts I carry in the van.
ADRIUM Service Solutions is based in San Ramon, ten to fifteen minutes down the road. I am Andrew Kuznetsov, EPA Section 608 Universal certified for sealed system work, CSLB #1136642. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair, quotes are written, and repairs carry a one year warranty.

Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Dryer heating element burnout on NED4655EW electric dryers. Alamo laundry rooms feed big households, and the 279838 heating element is a consumable under that load. The symptom is a dryer that tumbles fine but takes three cycles to dry. I check the element for a visible break, test the thermal cut-off that usually fails with it, and replace both in one visit. On long vent runs to the exterior wall, common in Alamo's larger floor plans, I also check airflow, because a clogged vent is what killed the element in the first place.
- Refrigerator start relay failure with clicking every few minutes. Garage and pool house refrigerators in Alamo cook in summer heat, and the W10613606 start device on the compressor is the usual casualty. You hear a click, the compressor tries to start, then silence, and the box slowly warms. The relay is a fifteen minute swap and cheap. The important part is testing the compressor windings first, because if the compressor itself is shorted, I will tell you in the written quote rather than sell you a relay that will not help.
- Washer stuck on sensing from a failed shift actuator. Amana NTW top load washers use the Whirlpool VMW platform, and the W10006355 shift actuator is its known weak point. The washer fills, clicks, sits in sensing mode, and never agitates or spins. On hard-water wells and older Alamo plumbing the actuator gets sticky even sooner. I confirm the fault code through the control, replace the actuator under the tub, and run a full calibration cycle before I leave.

FAQ
Amana in Alamo questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Alamo from San Ramon?
Alamo is one of our closest service areas. From our San Ramon base it is about fifteen minutes straight up I-680 or Danville Boulevard through Danville. We run this corridor daily, so same-day or next-day slots are normal, and we often pair Alamo calls with stops in Danville, Walnut Creek, and Lafayette on the same route. -
Is an eight year old Amana dryer worth repairing?
Usually yes. Amana shares parts with Whirlpool, so a heating element or belt repair typically costs a fraction of a new machine. My rule: if the drum, motor, and cabinet are sound, repair it. If the motor bearings are gone on top of the element, I will say so in the written quote and let you decide with real numbers. -
Do you charge extra for a second appliance in the guest house?
No trip surcharge for a second unit on the same property. Many Alamo homes have a main laundry plus appliances in an in-law unit or pool house. Tell us when you book and I bring likely parts for both. Each repair gets its own written quote, and the $75 diagnostic is waived on any unit you approve for repair.
