Look at temperature and airflow
Use the normal display or thermometer procedure for the model and record the reading with the time. Note whether the condition affects the whole cabinet or a shelf or zone. Touch is not a substitute for a recorded reading.
Look for food or a container blocking an accessible air opening. Record a new frost pattern, water, or fan sound from a safe position. Do not remove an interior cover, scrape frost, place a towel against a vent, or reach toward a moving fan.

Check the integrated door without adjustment

If the temperature change followed a door event, record that timing. Do not use the event to conclude that the gasket is the only cause.
Keep ice and water clues separate
For a column equipped with an ice maker, record whether the bin is empty, clumped, full but not dispensing, or receiving small or unusual ice. Note the last normal production, a recent filter or water event, and whether the cabinet temperature changed.
Check only the normal user setting described by the exact guide. Do not force a harvest cycle, bend a shutoff arm, chip ice, disconnect a supply line, or reach into the mechanism. Water near electrical equipment is a stop condition.
An ice symptom can arise from temperature, water delivery, storage, control, or harvest behavior. The observation is useful because it narrows the sequence, not because it identifies a part.
Keep the column record in sequence
If a temperature or ice change appears after a door opening, loading event, filter change, or power event, add the order and time. Do not keep opening the cabinet or forcing an ice cycle to reproduce the symptom. A later normal display or a newly filled bin does not remove the earlier observation.
If the column has an alarm or a connected control, preserve the message before acknowledging it. The local display, the ice mechanism, and the cabinet temperature are related clues, but they still need separate checks. A clean timeline helps the technician decide what to test first.
Record the installation context as well. Note a panel, cabinet, or narrow passage that limits access, and do not pull the column forward to inspect a hidden connection. If a recent filter change, delivery, cleaning, or power event preceded the symptom, include it as history without assigning it as the cause.
Keep safety separate
Do not open electrical panels, connect gauges, pierce tubing, bypass a control, or work near a fan. If there is burning smell, exposed wiring, a continuing water leak, or a repeated breaker event, stop using the affected function and keep people away.
