Identify the column and affected area
Record the model and serial label if it is visible without moving the cabinet or removing a cover. Write whether the concern affects the main refrigerator space, a drawer or compartment, the display, or a connected water feature if the installed configuration includes one.
Add the last normal observation, first change, current reading, alarm text, and time. If the display returns to normal, preserve the earlier event rather than deleting it. Do not repeatedly change settings to reproduce the symptom.
Record temperature and airflow
Use the normal display or thermometer procedure described by the exact manual. Record the reading and whether it is stable, rising, falling, or absent. Note whether one shelf or the full cabinet is affected, but do not use touch alone to decide temperature.
Look for food or containers blocking a visible air opening. Note a new frost pattern, water, unusual fan sound, or vibration from a safe position. Do not remove an interior cover, scrape frost, place a towel over a vent, or reach toward a fan.
Loading and airflow can influence a cabinet, but a clear shelf does not prove that cooling is normal. Keep the door closed as much as practical while recording the pattern.
Record an intermittent temperature pattern
If the reading changes only after a door opening, a loading event, or a normal cooling cycle, add each event with its time. Do not keep opening the column to reproduce the change. A later normal display does not erase an earlier alarm, frost pattern, or water observation.
When more than one compartment or related function changes, write the order in which it happened. A cabinet temperature clue, door clue, and water clue may belong to one visit while still requiring separate tests. This sequence helps the technician avoid treating the first visible symptom as the whole diagnosis.
Preserve the installation context
Record whether the column is fully integrated, panel-ready, adjacent to another appliance, or difficult to access. Do not pull the cabinet out to inspect the rear or place storage against a service path. If cabinetry, trim, or a door prevents a normal view of the label, record the limit and let the technician plan access.
If a recent installation, panel adjustment, cleaning, or kitchen work preceded the symptom, include that history without assigning blame. A visible installation change may affect sealing or access, while the cooling condition still needs a separate test.
Check the integrated door without adjustment
Observe whether the door closes, latches, and sits evenly. Look for a shelf, container, or trim that prevents closure. Inspect the accessible gasket for residue, a fold, frost, tear, or gap. Record a door that rebounds or rubs.
Do not pull the gasket from its channel, adjust hinges, remove panels, or drag the column forward. Integrated alignment is an installation and service boundary. A door that appears closed is not proof that the seal is uniform around the frame.
Keep water and other functions separate
If the installed column includes a water or ice function, record whether water delivery or ice changed with the temperature complaint. Note a recent filter event, visible leak, empty bin, or unusual sound. Do not disconnect a water line, force a cycle, or reach into an ice mechanism.
Water near electrical equipment is a stop condition. A water or ice symptom can coexist with a cooling condition, but it does not identify a valve, filter, sensor, or sealed-system fault.
Keep safety and access clear
Do not open electrical panels, connect gauges, pierce tubing, bypass controls, or work near a fan. Stop for burning smell, exposed wiring, water near power, a damaged cord, or a repeated breaker event. Do not move an integrated column alone.
Protect flooring without blocking service access or the appliance’s normal ventilation. Include the access limit in the service record if cabinetry, doors, or a narrow passage affects the visit.
Keep a current photo of the display, door edge, and visible frost or water with the time. Do not edit the photo after the condition changes. A later normal reading can be added to the timeline, but it should not replace the first evidence.
