Find the water before replacing the pump

A Dacor dishwasher can stop after water reaches the base pan and trips the float. The wet pan tells us there is a leak; it does not identify the source. We inspect the circulation-pump seal, sump, hoses, and door area, then dry and retest the machine after the source is known.

Poor cleaning and standing water need separate checks. We test circulation during wash, confirm the filter and drain path are clear, and meter the pump circuit before calling a pump or control bad.

The first visit also includes the model and serial, fault history where the controls provide it, visible wiring and connections, supply and drain conditions, and a check of the dishwasher’s position in the cabinet. If the machine is dead, power and the door safety circuit come before the control board. If it fills but will not wash, we check actual pump operation instead of assuming the board failed.

Written price after diagnosis

The diagnostic visit is $99, including additional appliances checked during the same visit, and the fee is credited toward an approved repair. We put the fault, proposed work, and price in writing before taking the dishwasher apart for repair.

If the base pan is wet or water is visible outside the unit, stop running cycles and close the dishwasher supply valve if it is safe to reach. That preserves the evidence for diagnosis and protects the cabinet while the machine waits.
