Oakland is where we see the most Z-Line. The hill homes in Rockridge and Montclair run Sub-Zero and Wolf, but the kitchens that went in during the Temescal, Grand Lake, and Adams Point remodel wave bought Z-Line. Owners wanted a 36 or 48-inch pro range and the dual-fuel look without Wolf money, and the 94609, 94610, and 94618 flats are full of them. Most are five to eight years in now, which is right when the broiler and hood electronics start acting up.
The Autograph Edition and Pro Series ranges here lean on an infrared broiler that runs hot. When the broiler stops lighting but the oven still bakes, the usual cause is the ignitor and the upper thermocouple failing close together. We bring both parts. On the professional hoods, the capacitive speed buttons go intermittent from grease working through the seam into the touch board, and the blower itself is usually fine.
Common repairs we do

- Infrared broiler ignitor and thermocouple. Broiler won't light, oven bakes fine, no fault code on older non-digital units. We usually replace the ignitor and upper thermocouple together since they fail close behind each other. We bench-test the gas valve micro-switch before we close up.
- Pro hood touch-board replacement. Speed buttons go intermittent from grease ingress at the touch-pad seam. Clean and re-seal first. Replace the board only if the sensors test dead.
- Dual-fuel convection cool-down fan. Fan keeps running after the oven cycles off. Usually the thermistor reads wrong, so the control never sees the oven cool. We diagnose the sensor and replace it. If the unit is still in Z-Line warranty we file the claim.
- Refrigerator icemaker assembly. Z-Line fridges sit on a standard residential platform. Most calls are the icemaker module or a door seal. Panel-ready seals order to the panel-ready part number, not the standard.
