Wolf in Redwood City

Wolf in Redwood City kitchens.

Redwood City has the widest spread of kitchens we see on the Peninsula. Emerald Hills and Farm Hill Estates are older money with big custom kitchens, usually a 48 inch dual-fuel range and a separate M Series wall oven bank. Redwood Shores runs newer, and those waterfront townhomes and condos lean toward induction cooktops with a single wall oven instead of a full range.

Downtown Redwood City has gone through a real building wave the last several years, and the new condo towers there are putting in Wolf induction and wall ovens at a rate we did not see a decade ago. That is a different repair mix than the Emerald Hills gas ranges, mostly board work and control panel faults instead of ignitor and gasket wear.

We work Redwood City alongside San Carlos and Menlo Park on our regular Peninsula days.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Burner sparks but the flame never catches. The Emerald Hills range calls are usually a burner that clicks but will not catch. We swap the ignitor and check the spark module wiring at the same time since they fail together often enough to check both.
  • Induction cooktop throws a zone fault code. Redwood Shores and downtown condo induction units throw an element fault code or a zone goes dead. We bench test the generator board before ordering a replacement.
  • Wall oven gets loud during preheat. A wall oven that gets loud partway through preheat usually has a worn convection fan bearing, not a heating element problem. We confirm it is the fan and not the element before opening anything up.

FAQ

Wolf in Redwood City questions, answered.

  • Is Redwood City covered by a local tech or do you drive over from San Ramon each time?
We have a technician based on the Peninsula in San Mateo County now, so Redwood City is local coverage, not a special trip from the East Bay. We route it with San Carlos and Menlo Park.
  • Do you service both older Wolf ranges and the newer induction units going into Redwood City condos?
Yes, we work on the full lineup, dual-fuel ranges, induction cooktops, and M Series wall ovens. Parts differ by unit so we confirm the model before quoting.
  • What should I expect on cost before you start a Redwood City repair?
Diagnostic is $99 and it is waived once you book the repair. You get a written quote before we start any work, no verbal estimates.
