The legacy housing stock here has fewer high-end ranges than Palo Alto or Menlo Park, but the newer townhome and condo developments going in along Bay Road and around Woodland Park are putting Wolf ranges and wall ovens into kitchens that did not have them ten years ago.
Most of our East Palo Alto calls come from those newer builds, so the units tend to be younger than what we service in some other Peninsula cities. That means fewer worn-out ignitors and more first-fault calls, a board or a sensor acting up on a unit still under five years old.

Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Oven bakes hot or cold against the dial. A wall oven that bakes hot or cold compared to the set temperature usually has a drifting RTD sensor, not a bad heating element. We test the sensor reading against actual oven temp before replacing it.
- New-build range loses a single burner. On newer ranges we sometimes find one burner or the oven ignition sequence dead while the rest of the unit works fine. That points to a relay on the control board rather than a full board failure.
- Wall oven door sagging on a young install. Even on newer installs the door hinge cartridge can start to sag if the oven gets heavy daily use. We replace the cartridge and gasket together to keep the seal tight.
