Half Moon Bay is the base of our Coastside route, and the same trip carries us up the coast through El Granada, Moss Beach, and Montara, so those towns get covered on the same call as Half Moon Bay itself. Housing ranges from small cottages a few streets off Main Street to newer construction closer to the harbor, and Whirlpool shows up across most of it, WRF fridges, Cabrio washer and dryer pairs, and WFE and WFG ranges handling the daily load.
Coastal salt air is the reason repairs out here look different from what we see inland. - WRF door gasket, salt-air cracking. Gaskets dry out and split years earlier on the coast. We replace the full gasket rather than patch it, since a partial seal just fails again.
- Icemaker fill valve and drain line corrosion. No ice or a slow leak at the back of the fridge. Salt air corrodes the valve and fittings faster than inland units, so we check this before assuming it is a clog.
- WFG range rust on grates and burner caps. Rust spots showing up earlier than expected. We replace the affected grate or burner cap and check the igniters for the same salt-air wear.

Half Moon Bay is the base of our whole Coastside route, and that includes Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada on the same trip. Our technician lives on the Peninsula in San Mateo County and takes Highway 92 over the hill as a normal part of his week, not as a special favor. -
Does the salt air change which parts you bring to a Half Moon Bay call?
Yes. We load extra door gaskets and icemaker fill valves for Coastside stops, because out here corrosion usually means the part needs full replacement instead of a quick clean and reseat. -
