U-Line in El Sobrante
U-Line in El Sobrante kitchens.
El Sobrante mixes old ranchettes, later subdivisions and condos, and roughly three quarters of it was built between 1940 and 1979. When a U-Line undercounter ice maker goes into one of those homes during a remodel, the installer works in a tight cabinet, and the factory braided supply line at the back can fold against the wall as the unit slides in. Weeks or years later, the machine stops making ice.
EBMUD water here is soft to moderate, so a no-ice complaint in El Sobrante is less likely to be scale and more likely to be that pinched line, a sticking inlet valve, or a drain problem. We pull the unit, look at the line first, and replace it with a longer braided line routed so it cannot kink again. Our U-Line service is authorized by the brand. The technician who covers El Sobrante is based in Benicia. Our $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and a written quote comes before any work.

Common repairs we handle.
- Ice maker stopped after a kitchen remodel. A kinked braided supply line starves the fill. We slide the unit out, replace the line with a longer one, route it clear of the cabinet wall, and run a full fill and harvest to make sure ice drops into the bin.
- Wine reserve compressor running without a break. Wine reserves run long by design to hold their zones, but a unit that never rests usually has a packed condenser coil or a failing condenser fan. We clean the coil, test the fan, and compare zone temperatures before and after.
- Dual-zone damper actuator stuck open. When the small DC damper motor on a 2218 or 3036 series unit fails open, both zones settle at one temperature. We replace the actuator from truck stock, recalibrate the sensors, and confirm each zone holds its own set point.

FAQ
U-Line in El Sobrante questions, answered.
-
Our house is up in the hills above San Pablo Dam Road. Do you come up there?
Yes. El Sobrante, hills included, is part of our area. Give us the gate code or any tricky parking notes when you book. -
Our El Sobrante Manor kitchen was redone and the U-Line ice maker quit soon after. Coincidence?
Probably not. A remodel is when the unit gets slid back into a new cabinet, and the braided supply line at the back can fold against the wall. The fill slows or stops. That line is the first thing we check. -
Do we need to empty the wine reserve before you arrive?
If the unit has to come out, yes, please move the bottles somewhere cool. A full wine reserve is heavy and the racks need to be clear. For a coil clean from the front, the bottles can usually stay put.
