Condenser fan motor failure on top-mount packages. When the condenser fan quits, head pressure spikes and the compressor trips on overload within minutes on a hot Tri-Valley afternoon. The cabinet then works at night and fails at noon, which reads as intermittent. We test the fan motor and its capacitor directly, replace the failed part, and confirm pressures hold under full afternoon load.
