When a zone stops calling or sticks, I trace it to the actuator or panel rather than blaming the equipment, so the house balances again.
Trane XR short-cycling on old downtown ductwork. The older homes near downtown often have tight original ducts, and a healthy Trane XR can short-cycle on high head pressure when airflow is choked. I measure the static before condemning the compressor, because the fix is frequently the duct, not the unit.
