- Climatuff compressor charge issues on hot eastern-hills lots. On the west-facing hillside lots the Trane condenser runs all afternoon, and a slow refrigerant leak shows up as a compressor running hot and a weak cool. I leak-check the system and correct the charge so the Climatuff compressor is not laboring through the heat short on refrigerant.
- ComfortLink thermostat communication dropouts. The newer two-stage Trane systems here use ComfortLink communicating thermostats, and a dropped link makes the system lose staging or the thermostat go blank. I check the four-wire comms and the board addressing before replacing the thermostat or any control.
