Our Clayton Freedom column makes small, hollow cubes. What causes that?

A short fill. The water may not be reaching the mold fast enough because of low supply pressure, a partly blocked inlet screen, or ice forming in the fill tube. We check all three and run a harvest cycle before replacing the ice-maker assembly.

Clayton's water comes from the Contra Costa Water District, drawn from the Delta, and when a column's ice maker slows we check the inlet screen and supply pressure along with the ice-maker assembly. Common repairs we handle.

Column losing temperature on hot afternoons. We check the clearances and the condenser airflow, then let the service test run through each component. A fan that has slowed, a heater stuck on or a sensor out of range can all mimic a refrigerant problem, and the test separates them.
Sealed-system leak on a Freedom column. We put nitrogen on the line set, find each leak with soap, and rebuild the corroded copper that caused them. Recovery, brazing, evacuation and recharge are one job. Our technician is EPA 608 Type I certified for this work.
Pro Grand oven running hot or cold. Heat in the kitchen does not change an oven's calibration, but a thermocouple or thermostat past its prime does. We test the oven with our own thermometer through a full cycle and replace the part that reads wrong.
