Flame sensor dropout, burner lights then dies. Burners fire for three seconds and shut down, three tries and the board locks out. Oxide film on the flame sensor blocks the microamp signal. I clean or replace the sensor, verify the signal with a meter, and inspect the burners for the rust flaking that often rides along in coastal-air furnaces.
Inducer motor bearing wear. A whine or grind before the burners light means the draft inducer bearings are going.
