Mitsubishi in Moraga
Mitsubishi heating and cooling in Moraga.
Moraga sits in a pocket of the Diablo Valley where the mornings off the canyon are genuinely cold and the afternoons can climb hot. That swing is exactly what Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat is built for, and we see a lot of these systems in the ranch homes around Rheem and the larger places up Moraga Way and Camino Pablo.
Many Moraga houses are 1960s and 1970s single-story homes with original wall furnaces or weak central systems. When owners replace them, ductless is the clean path because it skips tearing into finished ceilings. We service Mitsubishi M-Series and MXZ multi-zone here, and the bigger estates often run a multi-zone with five or six heads.
I read the fault code before touching anything. On a multi-zone, a dead head is usually that head's board or sensor, and I would rather prove that than sell you an outdoor unit you do not need. ADRIUM is EPA 608 Universal certified, CSLB #1136642, and the HVAC work runs through our Bay Area HVAC Service division. The $75 diagnostic is waived with repair.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Hyper-Heat losing output on cold canyon mornings. When a Moraga Hyper-Heat unit stops carrying the house at 35 degrees, it is usually a defrost-sensor or a low-charge condition, not a worn-out compressor. I check the defrost cycle and the subcool number and correct the charge so it keeps full heat output through the cold start.
- Outdoor fan motor failure on the MXZ condenser. The larger multi-zone condensers on Moraga estates run hard on hot afternoons, and the DC outdoor fan motor or its driver board is a common failure. I confirm with the code and the motor resistance before replacing, since a bad capacitor or board can mimic a dead motor.
- Communication fault between heads and condenser. On a six-head Moraga multi-zone, a single corroded or loose S1-S2-S3 communication wire will drop a zone or throw a comm code. I meter each leg back to the condenser rather than swapping parts, because it is almost always the wiring connection, not the boards.

FAQ
Mitsubishi in Moraga questions, answered.
-
How far is Moraga from your San Ramon base?
Moraga is one of our closer towns. From San Ramon we come over through the Lafayette and Orinda side, usually 25 to 35 minutes. Because Orinda, Lafayette, and Walnut Creek are right next door, we can often slot a Moraga visit the same day. -
We still have a wall furnace. Is a Mitsubishi mini-split a real replacement?
Yes, and it is a common upgrade in Moraga. A Hyper-Heat head heats and cools the same room a wall furnace only heated, and it does it quieter and cleaner. For a whole single-story we set up a multi-zone so each area has its own head. -
What warranty comes with a Mitsubishi install versus a repair?
A full install through our HVAC division carries 10-year parts and 10-year labor. A repair carries a 1-year warranty on the work we did. Everything is written down before we start.
