- One zone cold on a high-count multi-zone. When a single room goes cold and the rest are fine, we look at that head's board and sensor and the branch box port feeding it. The outdoor unit is working if the other zones are. We confirm by code, not by guess.
- Capacity loss on a hot afternoon. A theater or sunny wing that cannot hold temperature past 95 degrees points to charge, a dirty condenser, or a tired outdoor fan. On long hillside line sets we also verify the charge was corrected for run length.
- Branch box or port fault feeding a casita. A detached casita head that drops out can trace to the MXZ branch box port rather than the head. We test the port valve and wiring before replacing the indoor unit.
