Washer banging the cabinet on spin (suspension rods). Bravos top-loaders hang the tub on four suspension rods, and when the dampers inside them wear out the machine walks and slams during spin. Owners often assume the whole washer is done. It is not. A rod kit restores the machine to quiet operation in about an hour, and I balance-test it with a real load before calling it fixed.
Dryer drum will not turn (drive belt and idler pulley). When a Maytag dryer hums but the drum sits still, the belt has snapped, and nine times out of ten the idler pulley bearing caused it by seizing. Replacing only the belt invites a repeat call, so I do belt and pulley together and inspect the drum rollers while the cabinet is open. Parts are on the van for the common Centennial and MED models.
Lid lock light flashing, washer refuses to start (lid lock assembly). The W10404050 lid lock is a wear item on Maytag top-loaders. When its internal switch fails the washer will not run at all, which usually happens on a Sunday with a full hamper. I keep this part stocked because it is one of the most common Maytag calls we get in the Tri-Valley, Blackhawk included.
